LAS VEGAS TRADE SHOWS: Men’s Spring 2012

It’s our favorite time of year…the TRADE SHOWS in LAS VEGAS!!!  Once again, we were blown away by the amazing collections from some of the newer and the more established brands.  As for Men’s, we saw lots of MILITARY, ACTIVE, PLAID, DENIM, and one-of-a-kind WOVENS at the PROJECT and ENK shows.

This season, the Men’s LINES WE LOVE represent these trends all across the board. CALM, PUBLISH and 11 AFTER 11 took a new approach to basic wovens and knits…accent pockets in LEOPARD, CHAMBRAY and STRIPES seemed to pop out of the fabric.  We saw a huge trend in WOVENS that was fresh and innovative – taking the essential men’s button down to a new level.  UNDER 2 FLAGS did a great job of capturing the MILITARY trend, but with a really cool twist…think multiple CARGO pockets and new CAMO print.  The GYPSY 05 and RHEYN collections are perfect for active-inspired basics.  But these aren’t your boring basics…bright color and ethnic undertones make for anything but average.

HOT HOT HOT: Denim OVERALL

Denim OVERALLS have been around for as long we can remember! They are no longer just for the BLUE collar workforce, but are part of the L.A. fashion scene. Spotted on the streets in a variety of styles from patch work to slouchy crop, they now come in a variety of styles which we LOVE!! Expect even MORE as we move into Fall ’10.

SHOP: One Teaspoon

It takes A LOT to ruffle our feathers these days, but when we stumbled upon this line at the PROJECT trade show in Vegas, we fell HEAD-OVER-HEELS. It is the line we have always wanted… ONE TEASPOON is composed of so much variety and KICK ASS statement pieces, what’s not to love? From pearl encrusted bustiers, crochet knit shorts, spiked out dresses and chains GALORE, it is hard to say where the method lies in this madness. Australia has been UNLEASHING some seriously outrageous fashion lately, and we CANNOT WAIT to see what else this particular brand has in store. Keep your eyes OPEN, and if we are lucky, this collection will be in stores across the U.S.A. sooner than we can even say “one teaspoon.”

Street Spotted: Project Edition

After three jam packed days, PROJECT, MAGIC and ENK and 5,000 photos, we are back in LOS ANGELES reviewing all the WONDERS Project and Magic had to offer this season in Las Vegas. Check out a few of our TOP dressers… we have to admit, the men OUTSHINED the women this year! We loveddddd all of the boat shoes and loafers with POPS of color; floral accents; dandy accessories and clean-cut looks cruising around the shows.
