SERVICE: Passport to Prana

Lately in our downtime the warm weather has us planted poolside, lounging and eating backyard BBQ.  Working out can start to seem like a big commitment especially when getting out of town is the only thing on our minds. Yeah, we throw our yoga mat in the car hoping to get some STRETCHING in, but wouldn’t life be easier if we could just pop into a class nearby? Haven’t you ever wanted to check out different YOGA studios in your area, but didn’t want to buy a package at each and every one? The answer is yes, and PASSPORT to PRANA has got you completely covered. LLSLA has all the information you need:

Introducing Passport to Prana, an innovative yoga business that just launched in Southern California that lets residents dictate when, where, and how they’ll take their yoga classes for a fraction of the price.

Passport to Prana offers aspiring yoga enthusiasts and gurus a first-class ticket to wellness at over 30 yoga studios around Los Angeles and Orange County.  Card holders are entitled to  take a single class at every participating studio in their area without having to pay costly drop-in fees.  Want to learn Bikram in Downtown today, explore the Anusara style in Sherman Oaks tomorrow, and then try Ashtanga in Santa Monica next month?  No problem.  Not sure what these yoga styles are or even mean?  That’s perfectly fine.  Passport to Prana lets the fitness curious become both tourist and travel agent.  Members completely customize their yoga experience…from schedule to area of interest to neighborhood to workout level.

Each Passport costs $30, making the cost of each yoga session less than $1. (That’s less than the cost of a yoga mat rental!)  Like all Passports, this one has an expiration.  Los Angeles regional Passports are good through November 30, 2011 and can be purchased at http://www.passporttoprana.com/  and select participating studios.

Passport to Prana is the brainchild of securities attorney turned yoga instructor YuMee Chung.  Her goal in creating the company is to make yoga accessible to everyone regardless of economic background.

Passports are available throughout Canada, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa Bay, San Diego and for the first time ever, in Southern California.

Sip/Savor: Best Food Truck in Town

Top Chefs, Iron Chefs, major mover and shaker Chefs in Tinseltown (as Los Angeles is often called) are all finally getting noticed for WHO THEY ARE and their (fabulous) FOOD…glorious food!

One local chef who is always starring IN the news and making headlines for himself is LUDO LeFEBVRE, aka LUDO BITES.  Though he doesn’t have a restaurant of his own, he maintains his notoriety by slaving away in POP UP RESTAURANTS celebrated not only for his “kitchen miracles,” but that also boast SOLD OUT reservations for his entire short-term stint.  Often hailed as the “Mad Genius,” Ludo’s MOBILE TRUCKS are probably the most popular in town.  What’s for LUNCH or PRIVATE PARTIES?  Why, his famous FRIED CHICKEN, of course!!!
